Hayden graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 1995 where he majored in International Studies. After working briefly at Capital One in its collections department, achieving top collector status several times, Hayden pursued his long-held goal of becoming a trial attorney. In 1999, Hayden graduated from the Washington and Lee School of Law, ranked as one of the Top 25 law schools in the country according to U.S. News and World Report. Hayden took and passed the bar exam that summer and tried several complex cases to verdict during the same year. The following year he tried many more jury and bench trials to verdict with great success and became a partner in his former firm within two years of graduating from law school. Hayden spent the next seven years earning a reputation as a very aggressive and competent trial attorney with diverse skill sets and a strong competitive spirit. Hayden followed his curiosities and drive to achieve justice across a broad array of practice areas including complex business litigation, employment and civil rights law, personal injury and insurance law, construction and real estate litigation and fire and arson to name only a few. On March 17, 2008, Hayden launched his own practice to provide a more personal approach to the representations of his clients. Hayden is also very involved in the Richmond community.

Hayden is very active in his community and profession. Hayden began teaching legal research and writing part-time in an adjunct capacity at the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law in 2006 and continues to do so. Hayden also co-founded and launched OPUS Performing Arts Society in 2006 with co-chair Jake Crocker and they established an independent and highly successful non-profit performing arts booster organization in Richmond. In 2007, Hayden and others launched a for-profit company with a mission to renovate historic properties and further Richmond’s effort to revitalize its downtown. In 2008, on the same day Hayden launched his new law practice, Hayden started-up an energy company that re-organized the assets of a Kentucky coal production company that had fallen on hard times and entered the Chapter 11 bankruptcy re-organization process. This venture has also been successful.

During his brief professional career, Hayden has sat on numerous boards and held other leadership positions in the River City. In 2006, local publisher Style Weekly named Hayden one of the dynamic “Top 40 Under 40” people in Richmond responsible for its progressive development. In short, Hayden is a game-changer inside and outside of the courtroom and a lawyer and counselor capable of representing or advising you across a broad spectrum of matters.
